We tried something a bit different this week and hosted today’s episode during our virtual meet up

As I gave advice to a good friend of mine this week about being a mother, it made me reflect on what is important when becoming a mother but it can also apply when running a business. In life and business we are so hard on ourselves. We put pressure on to be and do the best at everything. But the truth is we learn as we go along sometimes and there are no written rules of how to do it, every child (and business) is so different.

There is sometimes so much information out there it can be overwhelming. But you must remember what’s important and how to stay focused

Listen to this weeks episode where i give my advice on this topic and hear what the other lovely ladies thoughts are on this

We are usually surrounded by family and friends that have always been in the corporate world and have only known that. In this episode I speak about losing my identity after becoming a mother. I didn’t know who I was or what I should be doing but I felt there was always something bigger. After starting my business supporting women with their accounts I knew my passion was there but until I created Inspire and Connect, couldn’t see how. It’s so important for all of us to reconnect with who we are, what our purpose and passion is in life. Being a mother doesn’t define us it’s a role we have as part of this amazing journey.

Caroline Strawson is a multi award winning EMDR & Rapid Transformational Therapist. She helps people clear past trauma that is stuck in the body and upgrade faulty subconscious beliefs. She specialises in PTSD, complex PTSD and narcissistic abuse leading clients to achieve post traumatic growth.

#blacklivesmatter is on everyones mind at the moment

As a white woman i need to do more. It’s not enough to say “I am not racist”, i need to take action and be anti-racist. I have black friends, clients, leaders with I&C and people within my community. I want to tell them i can see and hear them by talking about it and educating people in any way that i can

I am not an expert by any means, far from it but we all have to start somewhere and stop putting it off or ignoring it because it makes us feel uncomfortable. This will bring up fears, worry, anxiety and every emotion you can think of but it needs to be done

In this episode I speak to Fay Smith to discuss what white people need to be educated on, the difficulties faced in black communities, how change will happen and what is going on in the world at the moment with the riots and coronavirus. Fay shares some stories with us and helps myself and others to make change

Please take some time to educate yourself as a white woman, keep talking and don’t stop. What kind of world do you want to live in?

In this episode i speak about the need to seek approval from others outside of ourselves. It can prevent us from moving forward in our business and in life.

When we start to love ourselves, build on the connection we have and trust then we don’t need to seek that approval. We can feel empowered and start living within our purpose
